“You are the Infinite, not this finite limitation” – Yogishri

माया  (Not That)

Yogishri continued with Verse 51 of Chapter 2 as he strongly began the discourse with an assertion to the sadhaks of their grand Infinite nature, the ultimate truth. He explained how the nature of the mind is such that with a constant association, one can start believing in an idea that they initially did not agree with. “You are in a hypnotic state believing yourself to be this finite limited being. Something that doesn’t exist. “Masters who have realised this truth, who have woken up are trying to pull you out of this finite state”, he said.

Born with limitations of Karma, the one-dimensional nature of the finite was then explained by Yogishri. He said that on the spiritual path, one works towards dissolving the individuality. Initially following one’s swadharma with consistent sadhana and then leaving that individuality itself behind and moving beyond to the state of one’s original dharma, the Infinite. This, in essence, is the meaning behind the glorious words of Lord Krishna in Chapter 18 V66 as he declares:

सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज |अहं त्वां सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुच: ||

This entire process, Yogishri said, is contained in the single brilliant word Vinirmuktah, a double superlative that explains the freedom from this finite bondage.
